Stepping Into Fancy Shoes

Stepping Into Fancy Shoes

You’ve stepped into fancy shoes,
But they don’t fit, I can see,
Sandals! What happened to those?
Weren’t they much more comfy?

“But they are old fashioned,
Fancy shoes make me tall”, you say
Congrats! Now you’re a doll,
What’s next? A wig for your hair? ,

Oh! I remember the sandal girl,
On muddy ground her footprints she’d lay
Fancy shoe girl wont step outside
In winter, summer or rain

That girl who played hide and seek
Is now balancing on high heels
She doesn’t step into the sun
She doesn’t play or run

 Yet more than before
Her soul hurts
Because she’s wearing shoes
Not meant for her
